Laurius is a law firm that specialises in corporate law (M&A), litigation and real estate. Paperless and mobile, with fast hardware and software: that was law firm Laurius’ vision of the ideal IT environment. The firm, which has around 20 lawyers in Antwerp and Brussels, performed an audit which revealed the need to completely upgrade the IT environment. They took the opportunity to bring in Cheops and prepare the entire organisation for a new way of working.
Bea de Waal, office manager at Laurius: “The audit by Cheops exposed our weaknesses. We knew we had to upgrade our IT environment, but their analysis pinpointed what exactly needed to be done.” The focus was on the hardware and various security systems that were due to be replaced, as well as the general performance of the applications.
Besides upgrading the local IT environment and storing backup data in the Cheops Cloud, Laurius also calls on Cheops for the proactive management of its new hybrid cloud environment and to help design its IT roadmap.
Fully prepared for a new way of working
Bea de Waal continues: “Cheops is fully up to speed with the latest developments in IT. That was extremely important for us as well. It is partly thanks to their technological leadership that we have been able to take performance and support of our IT environment and employees to the next level.”
The cloud is one of these recent developments. More and more businesses are relying on the cloud for their IT operations and data storage. We chose a hybrid cloud environment with Office 365 because performance and reliability are essential to Laurius. All the Office applications have been fully migrated to the cloud, so users are now completely mobile. They can work anywhere and log in from other locations with no difficulty at all. This increases their productivity and flexibility.
